Croatian Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics Society is an independent and voluntary association of scientists, experts and other higher educated persons affiliated to develop and improve the professional and scientific work in the field of biomedical engineering and medical physics.
The full name of the Association (in Croatian) is Hrvatsko društvo za biomedicinsko inženjerstvo i medicinsku fiziku. The abbreviated name in Croatian is HDBIMF. The abbreviated name in English is CROBEMPS.
The Society was founded in 1984. By 2016, it operated under the name of the Croatian Medical and Biological Engineering Society (CROMBES). In 1993 the Society became a full member of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and the European Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (EFOMP).
CROBEMPS is a legal entity, registered in the Register of Associations of the Republic of Croatia. CROBEMPS is a non-profit organization.

The International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) are the founding constituent organizations of the International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM). IUPESM is affiliated to the International Council for Science (ICSU).
